Snyder Wins Snowbird Nationals

The Knoll Gas – Torco Racing Fuels blown alcohol dragster Team owned by Evan Knoll earned its second straight Snowbird Nationals victory this past weekend. It was the first Top Alcohol Dragster win for their driver Mick Snyder. The 3 time division 3 funny car champ made his first passes in a clutch car last Wednesday and by Sunday he earned his first event victory.

“We had so much fun this weekend. I can’t say enough about Brian and the rest of this team. I have learned a lot over the last few days and I can’t thank them enough for giving me the opportunity to come down here and drive such a great car. I mean this thing was running low 40s like a bracket car,” said Snyder.

Snyder qualified #2 for the event with a 5.41 at 260 mph. In the first round, he ran a 5.43 at 259 mph to earn the win light and earn lane choice in the semi-final match-up. Second round Snyder was low ET for the round again with a 5.42 at 259 mph. This set up an all Knoll Gas – Torco Racing Fuels final against the A-fuel car of Dyno Dave Heitzman. Snyder ran another great 5.43 at 259 mph to earn the event victory.

“This was a great weekend. We earned the win for Evan and Latrell and we had such a good time while we were doing it. The Team worked hard all weekend and that hard work paid off this evening. Mick did a great job driving for us, by the end of the weekend he was starting to look really smooth in the car. This is a great way to head into the off season,” said Brian Pfeifer, crew chief on the car.

Something Old, Something New
Snyder to Drive Knoll Gas - Torco Racing Fuels Dragster

Three-time Division 3 Top Alcohol Funny Car champion, Mick Snyder, will be competing in the Snowbird Nationals this weekend in Bradenton, Florida, but for the first time in about 5 years, he will be behind the wheel of a Top Alcohol Dragster.  The car owned by Evan Knoll and tuned by Brian Pfeifer is equipped with a clutch, something Snyder, who’s funny car uses a converter, hasn’t experienced in the past.

“Ever since Brian called and asked if I wanted to drive I have really been looking forward to this weekend.  I was really excited to get my feet wet behind the wheel of a clutch car and after testing on Wednesday, I am feeling pretty good about it,” said Snyder.

“I haven’t been behind the wheel of a dragster in a long time, unless you count the one pass in Shan’s SC car, and one of the biggest differences between this car and mine is the steering; in the funny car I have to really turn the wheel and this is more finesse.  Hopefully, we will be able to go out there and get a win for Evan and Latrell and the rest of the Knoll Gas – Torco Racing Fuels family this weekend.”

The Knoll Gas – Torco Racing Fuels sponsored Team won this event last year and they are hoping to repeat that feat this weekend.

“We wanted to come down here, try a few things on the car and get some more data before next season.  Mick is a great driver and this would give him an opportunity to learn how to drive a clutch.  It was really a win-win situation so Latrell gave us the go ahead and we headed down to Florida.  Hopefully, we will be able to win this thing for the second year in a row; that would be a great way to end the 2007 season,” said Pfeifer.

This will be their first trip to the Texas Motorplex with their Knoll Gas – Torco Racing Fuels\Powersource Transportation sponsored Top Alcohol Funny Car. Snyder, however, did drive here when he was racing in the Jr. Drag Racing league.

“We would really like to finish out our National event schedule on a positive note. We have had some really bright spots, but we have had some rough times too. Mark Adelizzi, owner of Flatout Gaskets, got us our first sponsorship and we have been with him ever since. Snyder Earns Spitzer Low Qualifier Championship
Enroute to 2 nd Win of the Season

The Snyder Motorsports Race Team went into Bowling Green with a lot riding on the line. The Team sponsored by Knoll Gas – Torco Racing Fuels \ Powersource Transportation proved they were up to the challenge when they started off by earning the #1 qualifier spot and clinched their 3 rd straight Spitzer Low Qualifier Series championship on Saturday. Then on Sunday in the all Knoll Gas – Torco Racing Fuels Top Alcohol Funny Car final round, Snyder moved up into the Top 10 Nationally when he earned the win light over good friend and Torco teammate Chuck Cheeseman.

“It has been such an emotional weekend for us. After clinching the Spitzer Low Qualifier championship on Saturday, we went into Sunday hoping to go some rounds. And after our opponent broke in first round and we blew it up, I have to say I didn’t know if there would be enough time to fix it, but we got it done. I need to say thanks to my Torco teammates Marty Thacker and Brian Pfeifer and their crews, Tony Samsel, and Wayne Butler and his crew. They really helped us make it back up there for 2 nd round,” said Snyder.

In the second round, Snyder ran a 5.75 to take the win light and earn lane choice in the final. In the all Knoll Gas – Torco Racing Fuels final Snyder left first and never looked back running a 5.81 to earn his second win of the season and move up into 2 nd place in the divisional points chase.

“We have been talking about an all Torco final since Evan started sponsoring Chuck this year. I am glad that we were able to get one before the season was over. I need to thank my crew for working so hard this weekend. Even when we are in a hurry the little things don’t get overlooked with these guys and that gives me a ton of confidence going up to the line. And thanks to Evan, Latrell and Skip for all you do for our operation; we couldn’t be out here racing like this without you.”

“I want to say that this one was for my Grandma. She has been in and out of the hospital lately and before I left home I told her that we were going to try and bring home the Wally for her. I can’t wait to show it to her tomorrow.”

Snyder Looking for a Win

Mick Snyder and the Knoll Gas – Torco Racing Fuels / Powersource Transportation Top Alcohol Funny Car Team are heading up to Brainerd, Minnesota this weekend to see if they can make their way through the tough field and into the winner’s circle. They went to a final a couple of years ago and they are hoping to get that illusive victory at what has become their favorite race of the season.

“It has been a while since we were at a National event prepped track. Brainerd is usually one of the best we see all year. We have had some issues applying all our power to the track and we have really been looking forward to coming here because we think it will stick,” said Snyder.

“The Minnesota fans are awesome. We love coming here and going out to the zoo at night, some crazy stuff goes on out there. It is unlike any other event on the NHRA circuit. I remember a couple of years ago when the chutes didn’t come out I took the turn on the circle track and ended up out at the zoo. When I came out of the top of the car they were all cheering. Hopefully this year they will be cheering for us in the winner’s circle instead.”

On Friday, qualifying begins at 1:30 PM and continues at 4:30 PM. Qualifying continues at 1 PM on Saturday. At 4 PM later that afternoon Top Alcohol Funny Car will have its first round of eliminations. They will continue on Sunday following the first pro session.

Snyder Looking for a Strong Performance in Columbus

After earning his first divisional win of the season in Indy last weekend, Mick Snyder and the Snyder Motorsports Race Team are looking for another solid performance as their 3 race swing comes to a close. Snyder who jumped up to the number 11 spot in the National points standings last weekend is hoping to make another jump, this time into the Top 10, in Columbus.

“After last weekend, we really feel like the performance issues that plagued us throughout the beginning of the season are behind us. After a short week in the shop we are ready to get back out there and see if we can get another win for Knoll Gas – Torco Racing Fuels and Powersource Transportation,” said Snyder.

The back-to-back-to-back defending Division 3 championship Team is heading into Columbus in 3 rd place in the divisional standings and leading the Jeg’s All-Star points chase.

“We are hoping last weekend will be the turning point in our season. All year we have been looking for the car to respond to our changes; last week it finally did. With half our season left, we need to stay focused and go out there and win some rounds. Mike Spitzer once told me that when you can clearly see the tower from your rig, you know it has been a good weekend. Last weekend we could see the tower, I would like nothing better than to have another clear view this Sunday.”

Qualifying for the event begins on Friday at 5 PM. On Saturday they will get 2 more shots to qualify for the 8-car field at 1 PM and 5 PM. Sunday, opening ceremonies begin at 12:30 and eliminations will begin immediately following and continue throughout the day.

Snyder Earns First Divisional Win of the Season

In the words of Austin Coil, “We finally figured out what was wrong with this car, and we ain’t telling nobody.” The Snyder Motorsports Race Team sponsored by Knoll Gas – Torco Racing Fuels / Powersource Transportation had a breakthrough event at their home track in Indy last weekend. After struggling throughout the first half of the season, they decided to do some testing on the Thursday before the event. That testing paid off.

“It feels so good to get this car back in the winner’s circle. We have been trying everything we can think of to get this car to run this year and we finally think we have figured out our issues. I can’t say enough about this Team and the effort they have put forth to get us where we are today,” said driver, Mick Snyder.

Not only did they win the event, but they had one of their most consistently quick weekends of the year. After qualifying #2 for the race with a 5.74 on a tricky track, they set low ET of each round of eliminations en route to the winner’s circle. First round, Snyder ran a 5.70 during a bye run when his opponent was shut off at the line. During the second round, Snyder left first and never looked back running a 5.76 to earn the win and lane choice in the finals. When his opponent was unable to make the call in the finals, Snyder laid down a nice 5.75 pass to earn his first divisional win of the season.

“I really need to thank Evan and Skip for all the support they have given us this season. With Knoll Gas – Torco Racing Fuels and Powersource Transportation behind us we have everything we need to come out here and race every weekend. And it was awesome to have my Knoll Gas – Torco Racing Fuels teammate, Marty Thacker, in the winner’s circle with me today. Hopefully, we will be able to keep this thing going in Columbus next weekend.

Snyder Heads to Home Track Looking for a Win

Thus far, Mick Snyder hasn’t achieved what he was hoping for in the 2007 season. Despite moments of excellence, Snyder has been unable to put together a winning performance, but he and the Team aren’t giving up yet. After qualifying #3 in St. Louis this past weekend, Snyder went out in the semi-finals when the car shook at around the 300 foot mark.

“This is a great Team. We look at all the data and we know we have more power than we ever have had, but we have been having a hard time getting it applied to the race track. Once we can do that, we think that we are going to be quicker than ever. We all know racing is a hard sport, if it was easy everyone would be out here doing it,” said Snyder.

Right now though we are going to concentrate on giving it our all in Indy and then we will go from there.”

“It seems like just when we get one thing figured out something else goes wrong. This is a very good team and we haven’t forgotten how to win. It is only a matter of time till we get on a roll. We are going to keep working hard and see what happens. I have a good feeling about this weekend.”

Snyder Parts Failure Ends Snyder's Day in Norwalk

Last weekend, Mick Snyder took his Knoll Gas – Torco Racing Fuels \ Powersource Transportation Top Alcohol Funny Car to the Summit Racing Equipment Nationals and everything was going well until the second round of eliminations. Snyder, on a single run, was on a great pass when just before ½ track a parts failure caused the rod and piston to come out of the motor and basically disintegrate before landing in the pan below the motor.

“It is really frustrating on so many levels. The car was on a great pass that round. We had some of our best ET and MPH ever to half-track and the motor blew before we even got to that point. We are still not 100% sure what caused it, but we believe it was the wrist pin. We don’t usually hurt things so this is the first time we ever even attempted to change motors in-between rounds. The crew worked really hard, but we just missed the call by about 10 minutes. We actually started the new motor in the pits while Top Alcohol was running the semi-finals. We did learn a lot about changing motors. Hopefully there isn’t a next time, but if there is we will definitely be better prepared,” said Snyder.

Snyder qualified #8 for the event with a 5.69 at 252 MPH. In the first round on Saturday night, he earned the win with a 5.67 at 253 MPH. On Sunday, he was on a great pass before a parts failure ended his day.

“The car is coming around and we were are about to turn the corner. We have next week off and then 3 divisional races back-to-back-to-back. Hopefully, we will get this Knoll Gas – Torco Racing Fuels / Powersource Transportation car in the winner’s circle.”

The “Divisional Swing” begins in St. Louis July 13 th thru the 15 th.

Snyder Looking to Turn it Around in Norwalk

Mick Snyder and the Snyder Motorsports Race Team are back in action this weekend at the NHRA Summit Racing Equipment Nationals. The Team sponsored by Knoll Gas – Torco Racing Fuels / Powersource Transportation is ready to use this weekend as a stepping stone for the rest of their season. After running some good numbers, including their personal best at the Joliet National event a few weeks ago they feel like things are about to turn around for the defending Division 3 championship Team.

“It was nice to have last weekend off to concentrate on running Snyder Motorsports and catch up at home. With 3 races in a row sometimes things get a pretty hectic around the shop. We are really looking forward to getting back out on the track this weekend. We have learned so much so far this year, now it is time to start using that knowledge to win rounds,” said Snyder.

The 25 year-old driver and his Team have earned Top 10 finishes in the National points standings since deciding to run a full schedule in the highly competitive Top Alcohol Funny Car class in 2005. They are looking for this weekend to bring them one step closer to the same outcome this year.

“Over the past few years this class has gotten more and more competitive. We have stepped up our program as well, but we are still looking for that first win of the 2007 season. Maybe we will be able to earn that this weekend and get this Knoll Gas – Torco Racing Fuels / Powersource Transportation car in the winner’s circle again.”

On Friday, the Team will have their first qualifying shot at 2 PM and another at 6 PM. Their third and final shot will be at 11 AM on Saturday. Eliminations begin at 4:30 PM on Saturday and continue Sunday following the first pro session. For up to date coverage of the event please log onto www.dragracecentral.com.

Semi-final Finish for Snyder in Joliet

The defending Division 3 champions were on the road again last weekend at the Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series divisional event in Joliet, Illinois. Despite struggling during qualifying, the Knoll Gas – Torco Racing Fuels / Powersource Transportation Team raced to a semi-final finish on Sunday taking out the #1 qualifier during the first round of eliminations.

“I feel like I keep saying this, but we really do learn a lot every time we take this car out on the track. We have made so many changes to the set up this year and we are starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel. My Dad has been working night and day to create more power and that has been coming around the last couple of races. It is just a matter of applying it to the track at this point,” said driver Mick Snyder.

With 21 cars trying to make that field, Snyder qualified #8 with a 5.79 at 254 MPH. He got a good jump on his opponent during the first round of eliminations and continued to pull away running a 5.73 at 255 MPH for the win. In the second round, Snyder ran a 5.78 at 256 MPH in his losing effort.

“We are happy with the outcome of the weekend. With so many good cars, it is really tough to even make one of these fields. First round was the first time the car actually made a smooth pass down the track and during the second round we continued to learn more about car. We are going to get all the “little things” worked out and when we do, all the hard work this Team puts in will begin to pay off. We are getting close; hopefully Norwalk will be the place it all comes together.

The next event for the Team will be the Summit Racing Equipment Nationals, June 28 th thru July 1 st.

Snyder Looking for First Win of the Season

After a very productive outing last weekend in Joliet, Illinois the Snyder Motorsports Race Team sponsored by Knoll Gas – Torco Racing Fuels / Powersource Transportation will be heading back to the track for the Joliet Divisional event this weekend.  The defending event champions are very excited to get back out there after running their quickest pass ever at this same track last weekend.

“We are really looking forward to the weekend.  After blowing up the motor in the first round of the All-Star race because of an electrical issue, we had to go home and build another motor.  Not to mention all the other maintenance we do between each race.  I need to thank our great suppliers, especially R&R Racing Products, Coan Engineering and Rhyne Competition, for getting us everything we needed on such short notice.  We could not do any of this without their help,” said driver, Mick Snyder.

For the defending Division 3 champions, this will be their second divisional race this season and they are hoping to pick up their first win.  After finally discovering the issue that has been plaguing them since the beginning of the year, the Team ran some of their strongest numbers ever last weekend at the National event.  They are hoping the success will continue this weekend.

“My Team has been working so hard this year.  Hopefully, this will be our breakout weekend and we will be able to get this Knoll Gas – Torco Racing Fuels / Powersource Transportation funny car in the winner’s circle.  This is the home race for Powersource Transportation, which is based out of Griffith, Indiana, and my friends and family will be in attendance as well.  Not to mention it is Father’s Day weekend and my Dad works so hard to make sure this car is ready to go each week.  It would be great to be able to give him a Wally on Sunday!”

Qualifying will begin on Friday evening at 5 PM and continue on Saturday with passes at 5 PM and 8 PM.  Eliminations will begin on Sunday at 1 PM and continue until a champion is crowned.  For up to date coverage of the event please log onto www.dragracecentral.com.

Snyder Runs Career Best Numbers in Joliet

After an uncharacteristic start to the 2007 season, Mick Snyder and the Snyder Motorsports Race Team may have reached a turning point to their season. Snyder, who represented Division 3 in the Jeg’s All-Star race for the second straight year, had an eventful first round when he caught on fire right around the 1000 foot mark for the first time in his funny car career. After tearing down the car and changing motors throughout the rest of the day, the Team came back out the next morning for the 1 st round of the National event and ran their quickest time ever, 5.595 right out of the box. It was step in the right direction for the defending Division 3 champs that have been fighting gremlins throughout the first part of the season.

“I think we have experienced the greatest highs and lowest lows at this track. Last year, we hit the wall for the first time, a couple years ago the back tire came off just past the finish line because the parachute wrapped around it, and this year I experienced my first fire. It is also the site of the quickest runs I have ever made, our first National event victory, and we won the divisional event here last year. Since the beginning of the year, I think we have changed just about everything on the car, and this weekend we finally figured out the issue. An electrical malfunction cost us a motor and 100s of hours of work, but now we can move on from here and get on with the rest of our season,” said Snyder.

After taking out the #2 qualifier in first round with a 5.595 at 255 MPH, the Knoll Gas – Torco Racing Fuels / Powersource Transportation Team was ready to go rounds. Unfortunately, even though they outran their opponent with a 5.62 at 255 MPH, Snyder turned on the red light in the quarterfinals.

“It was just one of those things. I looked at the tree and I just thought it was time to go. But, overall it was a good weekend for us. The car is finally running good so we will be able to get out there and compete at the level we expect of ourselves. We would have loved to get this car in the winner’s circle for Evan (Knoll Gas – Torco Racing Fuels) and Skip (Powersource Transportation) who were both in attendance this weekend, but the cards just didn’t fall our way. We will have another chance next weekend when we come back for the divisional event.”

The next race for the Team is the Joliet Divisional event, June 15 th thru the 17 th.

Quick Facts

  • Snyder has had back-to-back-to-back Top 10 finishes in the National points standings and Division 3 championships.

Snyder Loaded Up and Ready for Topeka

When Mick Snyder headed to the races this weekend he had one less thing to bring with him, a race car.  For the first time the Team will be using their new trailer that will be hauled to and from the race track by major associate sponsor Powersource Transportation.  Now that they have the trailer prepared, the Knoll Gas – Torco Racing Fuels / Powersource Transportation sponsored Team is hoping this will be the weekend that everything else comes together as well.

“We are so excited to be using the new trailer for this race. Everything fit, so that is always a plus. There are still a few things to do before Joliet, like get it wrapped, but for the most part we are moved into our “new home”. We are still going to be driving the motorhome to all the races, so it won’t be that big of a change, except now, we will actually have to have everything ready on time for Powersource Transportation to pick up. That could be a challenge for us,” remarked Snyder.

The back-to-back-to-back Division 3 championship Team just clinched their second straight Division 3 Jeg’s All-Star spot a couple of weeks ago in Norwalk, Ohio. After working non-stop the last two weeks they are really looking forward to seeing how the car will react this weekend.

“We continue to try to improve the performance of the car. We have had some good moments, but we aren’t happy yet with where we are. We know we have the backing behind this car and we have the ability but we haven’t been able to put it all together yet. Maybe this weekend all the hard work will finally pay off for our Team.”

Qualifying will begin on Friday at 3 PM and 6:15 PM. It will continue on Saturday at 10:15 AM. Eliminations begin at 3:30 PM on Saturday evening and continue on Sunday around noon. Please log onto www.dragracecentral.com for up to date coverage of the event.

It will also be the first divisional event for the Team of the 2007 season. The back-to-back-to-back Division 3 championship team sponsored by Knoll Gas – Torco Racing Fuels / Powersource Transportation is excited to get their divisional season underway.

Successful Weekend for Snyder at Knoll Gas Motorsports Park

The Snyder Motorsports Race Team Top Alcohol Funny Car sponsored by Knoll Gas - Torco Racing Fuels / Powersource Transportation had a great outing last weekend when they participated in the National City Thunder Nationals.  The Team outlasted the field by putting together four great looking passes during the event held on Saturday.

Driver, Mick Snyder, who was using this weekend to gain more data for the divisional season opener in Norwalk next weekend, ran a 5.76 at 248 MPH right out of the box.  He continued to get quicker as the day went on running 5.75, 5.73, and ended the evening with a 5.72 in the final round to earn the win.

"We had so much fun this weekend!  The stands were packed and we were able to put up consistently good numbers all day long.  My crew deserves a lot of credit for our success.  To put together four great runs is a tribute to the people we have working on this Team," remarked Snyder.

"Evan Knoll and the people at Knoll Gas Motorsports Park really know how to put on a great event.  We love coming up here to put on a show for all the amazing fans.  I can't say enough about how well everyone involved, spectators and staff, treat the racers at this event."

The Team will begin their Division 3 championship defense this upcoming weekend at the inaugural NHRA event for Norwalk Raceway Park.

The Team would like to thank our major sponsor Knoll Gas - TORCO Racing Fuels and our associate sponsors Powersource Transportation, Inc., Lencodrive Racing Transmissions, R & R Racing Products, Flatout Gaskets, Coan Converters, NGK, Snyder Auto, Long Printing, and Goodson for their continued support this year.

Snyder Looking Forward to National City Thunder Nationals

After a week off, Mick Snyder and the Knoll Gas – Torco Racing Fuels / Powersource Transportation Top Alcohol Funny Car will head up to Knoll Gas Motorsports Park in Martin, Michigan for the National City Thunder Nationals. Snyder and the Team qualified number one last year and won the event that is held only about 45 minutes away from the Knoll Gas – Torco Racing Fuels headquarters in Decatur, Michigan.

“This event is a great opportunity to meet some of the people that work behind the scenes at Knoll Gas – Torco Racing Fuels to support our racing operation. The facility is really nice and all the people treat us so well it is great to be able to come up here again this year,” said Snyder.

The defending Division 3 championship Team is planning to use the weekend to test some of the changes they have been making to the car. Just 2 races into their Lucas Oil NHRA season, this will be a good opportunity to gain some knowledge before beginning their Division 3 title defense next weekend in Norwalk.

“We had so much fun hanging out with Evan and all the Knoll Gas – Torco Racing Fuels employees and race teams last year. It was the first time we had ever been to an invitational type event. There was so much less pressure and we were able to just have fun. We are really looking forward to putting on another great show this year for fans.”

The event will begin on Saturday at 4 PM with qualifying. Eliminations will be held at 7 PM and continue with the final round at 10 PM.

Snyder Ready to Return to Atlanta

Mick Snyder and the Knoll Gas – Torco Racing Fuels/ Powersource Transportation sponsored Top Alcohol Funny Car are headed down to Atlanta this weekend for the first time in a couple of years.  However, this is the second trip to Georgia in a few weeks.  Once the Indianapolis divisional got postponed, the Team made the trip down to Valdosta for the division 2 event.  After qualifying #1 the race was postponed due to wind and rescheduled for May 12th.

“We are excited to get back out there and race.  After the Indy divisional got postponed, we went down to Valdosta and that got postponed after qualifying ,so we haven’t been in a round of competition since Gainesville.  We have some great sponsors behind this car in Knoll Gas – Torco Racing Fuels and Powersource Transportation and we would like nothing better than to get them in the winner’s circle, but first we will have to get to eliminations,” said Snyder.

The defending Division 3 championship team sponsored by Knoll-Gas Torco Racing Fuels and Powersource Transportation has been a top 10 finisher in the National points standings since their first full season of competition 3 years ago.  They are hoping this race will put them further toward that same goal this season.

“We have been working real hard to get this car to where we think it needs to be.  Dad and I made so many changes since last year that it is almost like having a whole new race car.  We learn so much each time we take the car out and one day it is going to all come together.  Hopefully, that will be this weekend.”

The Team will have 2 qualifying shots on Friday at 2 PM and 5:30 PM.  Their final attempt will come on Saturday at 1:30 PM.  First round of eliminations will be at 4:30 Saturday evening and continue following the first round of pro eliminations Sunday morning.

Quick Facts

  • Snyder has had back-to-back-to-back Top 10 finishes in the National points standings and Division 3 championships.

Snyder Excited About Strides Made in Gainesville

This weekend in Gainesville, Mick Snyder and the Knoll Gas - TORCO Racing Fuels / Powersource Transportation Top Alcohol Funny Car opened their 2007 season with a quarter-final finish. The Team made numerous changes to the set-up over the winter and they were anxious to see how it would translate to track performance.

“Overall, it was a very good weekend for us. Even though we struggled some, we were able to get a good line on our new systems that should help us throughout the season. There is nothing like track time and we were able to get quite a bit of that, but as is the norm, we could always use just one more pass. We also got our first round win of the season and in a class as competitive as this one, that is a huge accomplishment,” said Snyder.

“Besides the obvious excitement of going to our first race of the year, our new sponsor, Skip Bakos, the founder and president of Powersource Transportation, Inc. flew in to watch qualifying on Friday. It was really great to have him out at the track to see us start off the new year.”

The defending Division 3 championship team is ready to get back out on the track, but they will have to wait a few weeks until the Division 3 opener in Indianapolis the middle of April. The Team, sponsored by Knoll Gas – Torco Racing Fuels / Powersource Transportation, has already stepped up their performance from last year running in the low 5.6’s all weekend. After qualifying #7, first round, Snyder posted a 5.63 at 257 MPH in a whole shot victory over his opponent. Second round, he stepped up his performance posting a 5.62 at 257 MPH, but it wasn’t enough to hold off his competitor.

“With Knoll Gas – Torco Racing Fuels and Powersource Transportation, Inc. as well as a host of other associate sponsors behind this operation, we feel like we have all the necessary tools to compete at a very high level in this class. Everything takes time and we learn more every time we have the opportunity to be on the track. Hopefully, everything will really come together in the upcoming months and we will have a very successful 2007.”
