Snyder Motorsports Renews with TORCO Racing Fuels
Mick Snyder and the Snyder Motorsports Top Alcohol Funny Car Team have renewed with TORCO Racing Fuels for the 2006 NHRA POWERade Drag Racing season. The Team based out of DeMotte, Indiana is coming off a very strong 2005 season where they posted a personal best 5 th place finish in the POWERade National points standings.
“Everyone at Snyder Motorsports is very excited to be working with TORCO Racing Fuels again in the 2006 race season. Evan, Brian, Latrell and all the people in the TORCO family have been so good to us. Last year, with TORCO by our side, we posted our best finish yet. We are looking forward to improving on that mark in the 2006 season. None of this would be possible without the help from TORCO Racing Fuels and our other great sponsors,” said the 2-time Division 3 champion.
During the 2005 season, the Team, with their unique combination consisting of a Coan Torque Converter and Lencodrive Racing Transmission, earned 3 wins and 1 runner-up finish on the divisional level while on their way to their second straight Division 3 Championship. They qualified number one at all but one of their divisional contests earning the Spitzer Low Qualifier Series Championship.
The Team has continued to improve since 2003 when they first entered the Top Alcohol Funny Car ranks. This year they posted runner-up finishes at Brainerd and Joliet on the National level. In September, driver Mick Snyder became the 23 rd person to run a sub 5.6 second pass down the quarter mile. It was first time in history this feat was accomplished with a funny car equipped with a converter.
“We are really looking forward to the 2006 season. We have learned so much over the past two years about the different tracks and our combination. I believe that we will only get better as we continue to run this car on the NHRA circuit. I would like to thank TORCO Racing Fuels for coming on board with this race team for the 2 nd year. We are thankful to have the support of such great people and an outstanding company. We will do our best represent them well in the upcoming season.”
Snyder Motorsports would also like to thank their associate sponsors for their continued support- Lenco Racing Transmissions, Coan Torque Converters, Flatout Gaskets, R&R Racing Products, and Snyder Auto.

Snyder Ends the Year with a Runner-up Finish
Mick Snyder and the Snyder Motorsports Race Team concluded their 2005 season in Joliet, Illinois this past weekend at the Ameriquest Mortgage NHRA Nationals. The defending event champions made it to the final round before their goal of back-to-back wins was cut slightly short.
Snyder, the second-generation driver out of DeMotte, IN, ran his first .50’s pass to qualify #4 with 5.59 at 256 MPH for the event. The World’s Quickest and Fastest Converter car went on to take out his first round opponent running a 5.65 at 253 MPH. In the second round, Snyder was better off the line than his opponent and outran him to take the stripe with a 5.69 at 251 MPH. Last year’s event champ made his way to his second straight final round by taking out his competitor in the semi-finals running a 5.67 at 251 MPH. In the final, Snyder was better off the line and ran a 5.66 at 255 MPH but was unable to hold off his opponent.
“It would have been great to get this one. There are so many tough competitors in this class we feel good to be in the final round against such a great opponent. By getting to the finals we moved up to 3rd in the POWERade National points standings. We feel like we have gained so much knowledge about the car and the different racetracks this year. The Team is so happy to be in the Top 10 for the second year in a row. Now we will just sit back and wait to see where exactly we end up,” Snyder commented.
“Evan, Latrell and Brian at TORCO Racing Fuels have been so good to us this year. We really can’t thank them enough for coming on board with the Snyder Motorsports Race Team. All of the other sponsors on our racecar have also been extremely supportive of our venture. We truly appreciate all the encouragement we have received throughout the year. Hopefully next year we will be able to come out here and have the same kind of success.”
The Team would like to thank our major sponsor TORCO Racing Fuels and our associate sponsors Coan Converters, Design 500, Flatout Gaskets, Lencodrive Racing Transmissions, Long Printing, R & R Racing Products, Snyder Auto and Spitzer Race Cars for their continued support.

Snyder Looking for Back to Back Wins
Mick Snyder and the Snyder Motorsports Top Alcohol Funny Car Race Team will be in Joliet, Illinois this weekend for the Ameriquest Mortgage Company NHRA National event. Snyder, the defending event champion, is looking to repeat his performance from last year.
“Last year, I earned my first National event victory at this race. This year I would like to collect my second. We have a great car and going in we feel like we will be able to duplicate our winning performance. Hopefully, all the cards will fall into place and we will be up there in the winner’s circle again,” Snyder commented.
The TORCO Racing Fuels sponsored funny car, based out of DeMotte, IN, is currently 4th in the National standings. With a final round appearance here they could move into 3rd place overall.
“We mathematically wrapped up the Division 3 Championship and the Spitzer Low Qualifier Series Championship last weekend. It would be great if we could move up into that 3rd place spot in the National standings. It’s funny, 3 years ago when we began racing this class, if you told me we would be where we are now I am not sure I would have believed you. It isn’t that we don’t believe in ourselves, it is just that our car is so different from everyone else’s. No one really knew for sure if this combination could run these kind of numbers consistently. This year I believe we have proven we can run with the best of them,” said Snyder.
Qualifying for the event will begin on Friday with 2 shots, one at 1:30 and one at 5:00. The final qualifying shot will be Saturday morning at 9:00. Final eliminations begin on Sunday at 9:00 AM. You can keep up with all the exciting qualifying and eliminations action all weekend long on dragracecentral.com.
As the season comes to a close, the Team would like to thank our major sponsor TORCO Racing Fuels and our associate sponsors Coan Converters, Design 500, Flatout Gaskets, Lencodrive Racing Transmissions, Long Printing, R & R Racing Products, Snyder Auto and Spitzer Race Cars for their continued support.

Snyder Clinches 2nd Straight Division 3 Championship
and the Inaugural Spitzer Low Qualifier Championship
Mick Snyder headed to Columbus last Thursday afternoon to race 2 very important divisional events. His goal? To mathematically clinch the Divisional and Spitzer Low Qualifier Series Championships. That is exactly what he did.
“This weekend was so important for us in POWERade National, Lucas Oil Divisional and Spitzer Low Qualifier Series points standings. We knew coming in if we stuck to our game plan and executed efficiently we had a chance to clinch 2 titles. I have a great team working on this car. Without the help of my friends and family none of this would have been possible,” Snyder remarked.
Snyder began the weekend by racing in the semi-final round of the rain delayed Bowling Green event. He won the event running 5.75 at 247 mph and 5.73 at 244 mph in the semi-final and final rounds to bring home the Wally. In doing so, Snyder also qualified number one for the for the Columbus event to be held on Sunday. This was the 6th consecutive divisional race Snyder was able to earn the low qualifier award.
In the first round the TORCO Racing Fuels sponsored Top Alcohol Funny Car had some mechanical problems that caused the car to slow to a 5.88 at 248 mph. Fortunately, Snyder was able to escape defeat and head into the semi-final round. Snyder cut a great .028 light in the semi-finals and ran a 5.79 at 250 mph but fell just 7 feet shy of the win light.
“Even though we didn’t win the race like we would have liked to we were able to go enough rounds to mathematically clinch our second straight Divisional Championship title. It is such a great feeling to be able to say that we did it again. There are so many outstanding competitors in this division; many of them have been divisional champions multiple times. I feel honored to now be able to have that distinction as well.”
“It means so much to me to have the Spitzer Low Qualifier Series Championship in hand. Dad has worked so hard to make this car go down at some of the tricky Division 3 tracks. Mike and Karen really went the extra mile this year for the alcohol classes by sponsoring this award. We cannot begin to thank them enough for everything they have helped our racing team accomplish throughout the years. Hopefully, they will continue to present this award at the divisional races next year.”
For their next event the Snyder Motorsports Race Team will be in Joliet, Illinois for the CARQUEST Auto Parts National Event September 30 th thru October 2 nd. Last year, Snyder earned his first NHRA National Event victory at this race.

Snyder Looking to Wrap-up Division Championship
Mick Snyder, driver of the Snyder Motorsports Top Alcohol Funny Car, will be in Columbus, Ohio this weekend to participate in the final Division 3 Lucas Oil Divisional Racing Series event. Snyder will also be racing his TORCO Racing Fuels sponsored entry in the rain delayed Bowling Green Divisional event that will pick up in the semi-final round.
“This could be a huge weekend for us,” said the current points leader and defending Division 3 champion. “If everything falls into place we have the possibility to wrap-up the championship here. Hopefully we will be able to make that happen.”
Snyder, who is currently #5 in the POWERade National points standings, has been to 3 straight final round appearances on the divisional level and is hoping to bring that number to 5 with a strong showing this weekend.
“This is the first time we have had to race 2 races at the same event since we began racing this class. It is going to be a little more hectic during Saturday qualifying because we will be using those runs to finish the Bowling Green race. I know this Team is up for it though. Each of them has given up so much of their time for this operation, they will do anything it takes to get this car in the winner’s circle again.”
As the last Division 3 event contested this year, it is also the last chance to earn points for the Spitzer Low Qualifier Series. Snyder, who has qualified number one in 4 out of the 5 Divisional contests this year, is at the top of the leader board going into the Columbus event.
“It is no secret that Mike and Karen and all the guys at the shop have been very instrumental in my career so far. We all cannot begin to thank them enough for their support throughout the years. Our division is so lucky to have them put up the money for the Low Qualifier Award. We would really love to be able to leave this event with the Spitzer Low Qualifier Series Championship in hand. To win this award would truly be a reflection of the Team and my crew chief. Dad has done a tremendous job this year and deserves the credit for the qualifying success that we have had.”
Qualifying for the Columbus event will begin on Friday evening at 5 PM. Saturday the semi-final and final round eliminations for Bowling Green will coincide with the 2 nd and 3 rd qualifying runs held at 1 and 5 PM, respectively. Eliminations for Columbus will be on Sunday with first round beginning at 1 PM.
As always, the Team would like to thank our major sponsor TORCO Racing Fuels and our associate sponsors Coan Converters, Design 500, Flatout Gaskets, Lencodrive Racing Transmissions, Long Printing, R & R Racing Products, Snyder Auto and Spitzer Race Cars for their continued support.

Semi-final Finish for Snyder in Indy
The Snyder Motorsports Top Alcohol Funny Car made it to the semi-final round of the U. S. Nationals for the second straight year. Driver Mick Snyder had been to 4 straight final rounds coming into the weekend. Unfortunately, his streak ended with a semi-final loss at Indianapolis Raceway Park.
Snyder commented, “We had some issues with our tires the first couple of qualifying runs. That put us a little behind the rest of the class as far as the amount of data we were able to accumulate. It showed as we got to the later rounds of competition. As a team we are happy with the way the weekend played out. We had a good showing here at the U. S. Nationals, qualifying in the top half of the field and getting down to four cars in this competitive class.”
The TORCO Racing Fuels sponsored Top Alcohol Funny Car qualified #7 with a 5.692 at 254.04 mph. Eliminations for the class were scheduled to begin on Sunday morning at 10 AM. After almost a 9 hour delay, Snyder finally suited up for his first round of competition. He took the win light by running a 5.690 at 252.85 mph. In the second round of competition held Monday morning, Snyder took the advantage off the line and motored down the historic quarter mile at 5.683 and 254.04 mph for the win. Unfortunately, Snyder was unable to hold off his opponent in the semi-final round when he ran a 5.682 at 253.90 mph.
“We learned more about the car this weekend and we are going to use that data to make the car better in the future. We are all looking forward to a couple of weeks off. Then we are going to load up and head to Columbus to try to take home the Division 3 Championship. We are always out to win the race, but in this sport where the outcome is determined in less than 6 seconds, you have to be happy when you are able to go rounds.”
The Snyder Motorsports Race Team will head to Columbus, Ohio September 23rd thru the 25th. The Team will be competing in the final race of the 2005 Division 3 Lucas Oil Sportsman Series. They will also be competing in the rain delayed Bowling Green Divisional event that was called just before the semi-final round was to take place.

Snyder Looking for Victory at “The Big Go”
Mick Snyder will be in Indianapolis, Indiana this weekend at Indianapolis Raceway Park to participate in the longest, most prestigious event on the NHRA circuit. Snyder, the 24 year-old second-generation driver, made it to the semi-finals last year and lost to the eventual winner by literally inches at the finish line. This year, Snyder and the Snyder Motorsports Race Team are looking to put their TORCO Racing Fuels Top Alcohol Funny Car in the Winner’s Circle.
“There is no mistaking “The Big Go” is the most prestigious race of the year. There are 23 National events currently on the NHRA circuit. Each time a team unloads their car to prepare it for race day they are looking to win the race. The difference is everyone remembers who wins here,” Snyder commented.
The TORCO Racing Fuels sponsored car has been on a tremendous streak over the past couple of months. They have accumulated 5 number one qualifying positions and four straight final round appearances including 2 wins heading into this weekend. The Team is looking for continued success against a very tight field.
“As a driver and team, we try to come into this race with the same mindset as any other we have been to this year. We, as a team, treat every race with high importance. To say that we would treat this one differently would mean that we haven’t been giving 100% all year. With this great team that just isn’t the case. Everyone works together to make sure we will be ready to go each qualifying shot and on race day. Hopefully, this will all pay off and we will be in the Winner’s Circle on Monday afternoon. Then we will be able to look back and think, ‘We just won the biggest race of the season’,” Snyder remarked.
Snyder will begin qualifying on Thursday afternoon at 2:30 PM. He will have two more shots on Friday at 12:00 and 4:30 PM with the final attempt coming on Saturday at 4:00 PM. First round of eliminations will be held on Sunday morning at 10:00 AM and continued on Labor Day around noon. Snyder Looking for 3rd Straight Divisional Win
Driver, Mick Snyder, and the TORCO Racing Fuels Top Alcohol Funny Car will be in Bowling Green, Kentucky this weekend for the Lucas Oil Division 3 event. Snyder, the defending Division 3 champion and current points leader, is coming off a great stretch of races in which he has captured 2 wins in 4 straight final round appearances.
The Snyder Motorsports Race Team will also be looking to pick up their 4 th straight Spitzer Enterprises #1 qualifying award. The Team is currently #1 in the Spitzer Enterprises
Top Alcohol Funny Car Low Qualifier Series as well.
“We have been on a great stretch of races lately. It isn’t something you expect with all of the great competition in Division 3 and across the country. We have worked very hard to continually improve our race car and we have started to see some amazing results,” commented last year’s event runner-up.
“We feel very lucky that we have been able to do so well as of late and hope that our charge to back-up the Division 3 championship proves to be successful in the end. This is such an up and down sport. So many little things can happen to end your day, but that is what makes it such a challenge. That is why we love it.”
The Top Alcohol Funny Car class will receive 3 qualifying sessions beginning on Friday (5 PM) and continuing on Saturday afternoon at 1 PM and 4:30 PM. Eliminations well commence at 1 PM on Sunday following the opening ceremonies.

Runner-up Finish for Snyder in Brainerd
The Snyder Motorsports Race Team was in Brainerd, Minnesota this past weekend to participate in the Lucas Oil Nationals at Brainerd International Raceway. In a stellar field, which included 8 of last year’s top 10 in the National points standings, Snyder made his 4 th straight final round appearance of the year.
After one round of qualifying, Snyder lead the field before ending up in the third position with a 5.62 at 255.73 mph. “The field was really tough this weekend. We have been doing really well on the divisional level for the past couple of months. This was a chance to go out and prove that we can run with the best of the best. We qualified great and with the runner-up finish we believe that we did just that,” commented Snyder.
First round, Snyder ran 5.67 at 253.71 mph to take the win light. By second round all eight cars left in the field were in the top 10 in points last season. Snyder had his opponent off the line and never looked back. He laid down a 5.66 at 254.95 to win the round and earn low ET of the session. In the semi-finals, the TORCO Racing Fuels funny car was once again first off the line and motored down the track at 5.67 and 254.95. Final round, the defending Division 3 champion cut an almost perfect .008 light but fell behind when the car shook and made a move toward the centerline.
“It would have been nice to finish off the weekend with a win. But with the way the car ran this weekend and the great field here in Brainerd we can’t be disappointed with how we finished up. That last run was the first time all weekend we had been in the 5.70’s. It just happened at the wrong time against a great opponent.”
The performance this weekend has moved the Snyder Motorsports Top Alcohol Funny Car up into 4 th place in the POWERade National points standings; less than one round out of 3 rd.
You can watch all of this great racing action on Sunday, August 21 st from 12 to 1 PM ET on ESPN2.
The next stop for the team will be in Bowling Green, Kentucky at Beech Bend Raceway Park for the Lucas Oil Divisional event August 26 th thru the 28 th.

The Team also collected 2 wins and a runner-up finish to move into the points lead in Division 3.
“We are really looking forward to this weekend in Brainerd. Our car has been running great for quite a while now. This weekend is going to be a test for us. There is a stellar field in Top Alcohol Funny Car this weekend and we feel like we can run with the best of them now. We just need to go out and prove ourselves,” Snyder commented.
“It was a really short turn around for us this week. We got home on Sunday night and left on Tuesday. It is a worth it though. Brainerd is a great track and they have the most entertaining and energized fans of any track we go to throughout the year. It is always a great time. Defending Division 3 Champion Mick Snyder and the Snyder Motorsports Race Team were in Cleves, Ohio this past weekend for Summer Thunder at Edgewater Sports Park. The Team which qualified number one and set low ET for the 4th straight race earned their second win of the season and lengthened their points lead in the Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series Divisional standings.
Snyder ran a 5.84 at 237.09 mph during qualifying to collect the Spitzer Enterprises Low Qualifier Award and add to his points lead in the overall standings of that championship chase as well.
“It is just amazing how we have had everything come together over the last month or so. I want to say thanks to Mike and Karen Spizter for sponsoring the low qualifier award. It is so nice for them to support the alcohol classes in Division 3 like that.”
First round, Snyder ran a 5.98 at 243.96 mph in the heat of the day to take the win light and set low ET of the session. “We are so excited to have this TORCO Racing Fuels funny car back in the winner’s circle. We have been on the divisional swing of our schedule for the last month and a half. Next week we are headed up to Brainerd for the National Event. The car is running so well, we are looking forward to seeing what it can do with the track conditions up there. I want to thank all of the sponsors we have on this car. Without their help, there is no way we could be out here competing and winning races.”

Snyder Looking for Two in a Row in Edgewater
The Snyder Motorsports Top Alcohol Funny Car is coming off a very impressive month of July where they qualified number one and set low ET at each of the 3 races they attended. They are hoping to continue this trend in Cleves, Ohio at Edgewater Sports Park this weekend.
Defending Division 3 Champion, Mick Snyder is heading into this weekend at the top of the very competitive North Central Division points chase and has recently moved into the top 10 of the National points standings. Snyder is hoping to add to his lead this weekend.
“We feel like we have the car running really well right now. Hopefully we will be able to capitalize on that and put together another win this weekend. Bristol was really good for us. We needed to win on the Divisional level to help us in the points chase and boost the team’s confidence. Everyone on the crew works so hard each weekend and sometimes you just need to see it pay off.”
“The fans at Edgewater are great. We always have a great turnout and a lot of fun when we come to this track. Hopefully we will be able to put on a good show for them and all the sponsors that make it possible for us to go out an race each weekend,” said Snyder.
The TORCO Racing Fuels sponsored car will begin qualifying on Friday night at 5 PM. Saturday they will have 2 more sessions at 5:30 and 8:30 PM. Opening ceremonies begin at 12:45 on Sunday followed by final eliminations at 1 PM.

Snyder Wins First of the Season in Bristol
The Snyder Motorsports Top Alcohol Funny Car sponsored by TORCO Race Fuels capped off a busy month of July with their first victory of the season at Bristol Dragway this past weekend. Driver, Mick Snyder, was the #1 qualifier and had low ET of the weekend for the third time in as many races this month.
Snyder earned the #1 spot with a 5.84 at 244.78 mph. In the first round, Snyder collected the win setting the low ET of the round with a 5.90 at 245.58 mph. Snyder had a bye run in the semi-finals where he motored down the track at 5.92 and 245.40 mph giving him the all important lane choice for the upcoming final round. In the all Division 3 final, Snyder ran an impressive 5.83 at 245.54 mph to earn the win light. The run bettered his own low ET of the weekend and also moved him into the head of the Division 3 Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series points chase.
“It was a great weekend for us. All the pieces finally fell into place. This car has been running well for a while, but we just haven’t been able to make it to the winner’s circle,” remarked Snyder.
“It felt so good to win again. I have a great crew working on this car. They all volunteer their time each weekend, so it is nice to finally have the hard work pay off.”
“Evan and Brain and the whole TORCO Race Fuels family have given us so much support this year. It was nice to be able to give them something back this weekend. I can’t begin to thank all our sponsors enough for their continued support of this operation.”

Snyder Heading to Bristol Divisional
The Snyder Motorsports Top Alcohol Funny Car is coming off a great weekend in Joliet, Illinois where they earned the #1 qualifying spot for the second divisional race in a row and runner-up finish. The TORCO Racing Fuels backed car is looking for more of the same in Bristol, Tennessee when they compete in the Division 2 Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series event this weekend.
Driver Mick Snyder runner-upped at this event last year on his way to the Division 3 Championship title. Snyder commented, “This is another great track. After seeing what the car was able to do last week, we are excited to get back out there put it to the test again. This is a really short turn around for us. We got home on Sunday evening and left again on Wednesday. Luckily, after we went through the motor, there was nothing wrong with the car and we were able to do usual maintenance and load everything back up.”

Snyder Reaches Final Round in Joliet
The Snyder Motorsports Top Alcohol Funny Car sponsored by TORCO Race Fuels was in Joliet, Illinois this past weekend to participate in the Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series Divisional event at Route 66 Raceway.
The defending Division 3 Champion qualified #1 and claimed the Spitzer Enterprises qualifying money for the second event in a row with a 5.74 at 249.90 mph.
In first round, Snyder defeated his opponent running a 5.81 at 250.32 mph. With lane choice against their opponent in the second round, the Team again earned a victory running 5.82 at 245.67 mph, low E.T. of the round. Final round Snyder came up just short in a tight race running 5.78 at 250.60 mph.
“We have put a lot of time and effort into making this car run consistently faster. Right now we think we have it figured out. Hopefully, this was a turning point for us and things will continue to go our way in Bristol,” Snyder commented.
“Anytime you pull up to the line you want to win the race. We were up against arguably the best car and driver combination in the nation and it was a very good race. We just came up just a little short this time. The important thing is that we qualified great and made it to the final. This puts us in a much better position in the points standings.”
This weekend (July 22 nd and 23 rd) the TORCO Racing Fuels Top Alcohol Funny Car will head to Bristol, Tennessee to compete at Bristol Dragway in their fourth divisional event of the season.

Snyder Looking for Victory in Joliet
The Snyder Motorsports Top Alcohol Funny Car sponsored by TORCO Race Fuels will head to Joliet, Illinois this weekend to participate in their third divisional event of the season. Driver, Mick Snyder, earned his first National event win at the first-class Route 66 racing facility last fall and will continue his Division 3 Championship defense this weekend.
After a disappointing turn of events in Mid-Michigan the first weekend in July the team is hoping this will be a turning point in their season. “We had a great car in Michigan, we qualified number one and had the low E.T. of the weekend, but there were too many safety concerns for us to continue to race on the track. It was disappointing but this is a new weekend and a great track,” remarked Snyder.
“We know this car is capable of being in the winner’s circle again and hopefully this will be the weekend it all comes together for us. We have put in a lot of hours the past couple of weeks to get the car ready for this race. It is time for us to go out and win, for the fans and for the great sponsors we have supporting this car.”
Joliet qualifying will begin on Friday at 5 PM. Saturday qualifying will be held at 5 and 8 PM followed by a fireworks display at 10 PM. Sunday opening ceremonies will begin at 12:30 followed by eliminations in Top Alcohol Funny Car.

Snyder Qualifies Number One in Mid-Michigan
The Snyder Motorsports Top Alcohol Funny Car sponsored by TORCO Race Fuels was in Mid-Michigan this past weekend to continue their defense of the Division 3 Championship.
The Team started off the weekend running a 5.84 at 238.91 mph out of the box, the low E.T. of the weekend and number one qualifying spot for the event. Driver Mick Snyder lifted early on the run but due to track conditions was unable to keep the car out of the sand trap.
“The damage to the car was minimal and with our top notch crew, we could have been ready for the 2 nd qualifying pass the next night. However, with the rough track and the steel guardrails, I decided it was too dangerous,” said crew chief Larry Snyder. “Even after qualifying number one, safety is still most important.”
That evening the TORCO Race Team decided to load up and head back to DeMotte, Indiana to begin getting ready for their next event.
The Team would like to thank Mike and Karen Spitzer of Spitzer Enterprises for the Number One qualifying money for the event.
Although disappointed with the events that transpired this past weekend, the Team is looking forward to their next Division 3 contest at Route 66 in Joliet, Illinois July 15 th thru the 17 th.

Snyder Continues Title Defense in Michigan
The Snyder Motorsports Top Alcohol Funny Car sponsored by TORCO Race Fuels will head to Stanton, Michigan to participate in their second divisional event of the 2005 season. The event will be held at Mid-Michigan Motorplex, just a little over two hours from the headquarters of the Team’s major sponsor TORCO Race Fuels.
The Team has had quite a bit of success at this racetrack in the past. Mick’s father and crew chief, Larry Snyder, won here en route to his 1999 Pro Outlaw World Championship while Mick has runner-upped at this track twice in two appearances. He hopes that the third time will indeed prove to be a charm.
“We didn’t perform up to our potential at the Indy Divisional this year. Hopefully, that is all behind us now and we will be able to put a win together at this event. The car ran really well the last time out and we are excited about the progress we have been making,” said Snyder.
“Evan and Brian at TORCO Race Fuels have given us the backing to win another championship. We would love to start the defense of our North Central Division Championship here in TORCO’s home state.”
The Mid-Michigan Motorplex event is the first of three Divisional races the Team plans to attend before returning back to the National event circuit.

Snyder Finishes in Joliet Quarterfinals
The Snyder Motorsports Top Alcohol Funny Car sponsored by TORCO Race Fuels finished the weekend in the quarterfinals for the third straight race.
The Team that was hoping to repeat their winning performance from last year’s fall event, came up a little short this past weekend. They began the weekend by qualifying #4 with a 5.75 at 248.71 mph. First round, the Team took the win light running a 5.77 at 289.72 mph. In second round they stepped up to a 5.70 at 250.97, but it wasn’t quite enough. Snyder crossed the finish line second by a .0105 margin (approximately 4 feet).
“We are disappointed we were not able to put things together and win this race, but we are very excited about some of the things that we learned about the car,” said Snyder.
“Each time we go down the track we gain more data, which we are using to improve. I know this is a good car and a great team, it is just a matter of time until the TORCO Race Fuels car is back in the winner’s circle.”
For the next few races on their schedule the Team will be shifting gears to participate in the North Central Lucas Oil Sportsman Series events. They will begin at Mid-Michigan Motorplex on the weekend of July 4 th.
